Websites for teachers and such...

Whew...it's been a while...
Anyway, I think that I have the comment section figured out the comment section. I have been searching on the web, looking at instructional sites for teachers. There is a vast array of helpful information for those that are willing to look. The first one I will discuss is Engrade. Engrade is not just for English teachers, it is for all teachers. It is a valuable resource that provides things like an online gradebook, quizzes, flashcards, and much more. It also has wikis, which is something that is helpful as well. In certain sections, students and parents can access the site. Engrade was and still is a valuable resource for me during my first year as a teacher. I think that it is a great resource for teachers.

Another website is Onestopenglish. It is another great resource for English teachers. Everything that you need to know about English education is on here as well as lesson plans. It includes beginner lesson plans, materials , the uses for different kinds of technology, and a host of  other resources to make your instruction even better. I have recently discovered this site, but i think that anybody that is an instructor of English can get great use out of it.

PBS for Teachers and ALEX are also two other great sites. They provide instructional help and lesson plans. PBS has presentations that you could use in your daily classroom instruction. PBS for Teachers also covers all grades and all subjects. ALEX, the state website provides a good start for teachers that are getting into technology resources for education. I feel that both sites can  be of great help to new and old teachers.

I found plenty of websites for instructional purposes. Another one, Teachers.teach-nology, provides an exstensive list of websites for teachers. I could go one, but I'll stop here.

As a teacher with a computer, the world is basically at your finger tips. you can find a wealth of information for technology purposes that can be used in your classroom.

Until next time...

It sounds like a great way to keep track of students grades and also provides a link to wiki and other activities for students. I saved this as a bookmark on my computer because I would really like to use it in my classroom next year! Thanks for sharing some great resources for teachers!

  2. Melissa,
I am going to look at the Engrade website. I think it will be very useful. The other websites sound good, but I teach elementary so they probably would not be as useful to me. Thanks for sharing!
